We use the freshest ingredients to prepare some of the best classic country cuisines in the area. Our country hams, cooked on-site in our ham room, have a huge following in southeastern Virginia. Is there a food minimum, guest count minimum, or china requirement?
Frequently Asked Catering Questions
No. We want our food options to be as elegant or affordable as possible, and therefore we don't have a food or guest count minimum. Additionally, we do not have a china requirement. (Honestly we love many of the beautiful and affordable disposable options available today! I can't even count how many times we have had a sample of these at the venue and touring couples didn't even know they were disposable until they touched them!)
No, but we do encourage our clients to select one of the caterers on our select list to ensure a seamless and quality experience. Our select caterers are trusted partners who are familiar with our venue, meet our standards for service and food quality, and comply with all health and safety regulations. This helps us maintain consistency, avoid logistical issues, and provide you and your guests with the best possible dining experience on your special day.
If you do choose a caterer not on our select list, they must be licensed and insured, full service caterer and approved by The Legacy at Willow Pond. A full-service caterer provides more than just food—they handle all aspects of the dining experience. This typically includes menu planning, food preparation, delivery, setup, serving staff, bartending, table settings, and cleanup. They work closely with the event planner or client to ensure everything runs smoothly, from appetizers to dessert. Full-service catering is ideal for weddings and large events where a professional, all-inclusive dining experience is needed.
You can hire the catering company of your choice. We do have a list of approved select caterers and if you pick one, you won't have any additional documents to obtain. If you hire one not on our list, we do require additional documents along with an additional fee.
